Ambeth Ocampo's historical research and reportage are solid, but happily aimed at the non=academic, general reader. He makes history popular, understandable, and close to real life, as it should be, so that it may help the Filipino understand the way they were -- and thus the way they will be. For enriching awareness and appreciation of Philippine history, by presenting little-known facts, shedding new light on well-known facts, and underscoring the continuing relevance of the past. **The book has light foxing.**.
