Perelman (1904-1979) was known as one of the great American humorists and satirists of the 20th century. Perelman was the writer of Broadway productions, Hollywood screenplays (both credited and uncredited under MGM) and the author of an impressive body of literature. He is known as the person who popularized the phrase "crazy like a fox" after he used it as the title of his 1944 book by the same name. Perelman had the distinction of having penned some of the iconic works of the stage and screen. Perelman was the co-writer on the Marx Brothers classics "Monkey Business" (1931) as well as "Horse Feathers" (1932). He also wrote the screenplay for "One Touch of Venus"(1948), an adaptation of his 1943 hit Broadway musical (music by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Ogden Nash, and book co-written by his wife Laura West). He was also the recipient of the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for "Around the World in 80 Days" (1956). Seller Inventory # 27278
