A very good copy of the first edition. Previous owner's contemporary gift inscription to front free endpaper, else the text is unmarked. Mild age-toning to the pages. The binding is solid and firm: no splitting in the gutters, and no wobble to the boards.Gilt devices and lettering are still quite bright in appearance.
