First Edition per number line. Softcover without dust jacket. Book in good condition showing some wear to edges and corners. Covers with rubbing along spine and superficial scratches to glossy covers. Pages essentially clean and unmarked except for an underlining in pen on page 19. This book was translated by Friedemann-Eckart Schwarzkopf with editing and revision of translation by Michael Lipson, Sabine Seiler, and Christopher Bamford. The author writes "the aim of this book is to show that the world, including human beings and their consciousness, is not originally a world of thinks but a world of words; that fundamentally the world has the structure of a text; and that it is therefore possible to read it like a text". In order to carry out this aim three different approach or disciplines must be continuously kept in mind: epistemology, psychology, and linguistics. This is no ordinary philosophical text, but a guide to philosophical experience; to the experience of cognition itself.
