The reports provide an insight into the poor sanitation of the labouring population in the early Victorian era, before a period of much reform and improvement.With chapters on all counties and various cities.Illustrated with ten plates. Collated, complete.Contributions by W. J. Gilbert, Sir Edmund Head, Edward Twisleton, Dr. William Baker, J. P. Kennedy, and more. In the original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Spine and extremities are faded. Light marks to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, small chip to the head of the spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with scattered spots. Good.
