Persons are not very sick who want to be read to., 463. It is said if a man blows his breath into the nose of a colt or calf, the animal will follow him for miles., 843. A man can speak more efficiently when he full of his subject than when he is full of himself., 1196. Brain-workers require most sleep., 868. A far greater courage is it to silently endure a groundless defamation, than to march up to the cannon's mouth." etc. (these were randomly selected shorter maxims). A half dozen or so light pencil marks in the margin, previous owners pastedown label just inside the cover (8 x 3.4 cm), previous owners pencilled name/date on the page before the title page (dated 1876), and creasing to the front endpaper otherwise pages are unmarked and firm in binding.
