This is the fanciful tale of a young porpoise, brimming with curiosity and eager for adventure. His quest leads him to the shores of a strange and alien world, and to the brink of disaster. The story demonstrates the porpoises perfect adaptation to his own world, and his total helplessness on the beach, the dividing line that separates two of the most intelligent lifeforms on earth.
