Hardcover, 226 pages, illustrated with scientific figures and tables. ISBN 0126209901. An important specialist monograph collecting fifteen chapters by leading researchers on the structure, molecular biology, genetics, metabolism and clinical significance of lipoprotein(a). The volume also examines the relationship between Lp(a), atherosclerosis, thrombosis, hemostasis and coronary heart disease. Later historical reviews have recognized Scanu’s book as the first major comprehensive overview devoted specifically to lipoprotein(a). Fine condition. Firmly bound, with clean, bright pages and no apparent highlighting. Light rubbing and a few small marks to the brown cloth-covered boards, including a faint curved surface mark on the rear cover. Small previous-owner pencil notation on the copyright page. No dust jacket, apparently as issued.
