1st edition of this mechanical engineering classic. Illustrated with 90 plates and 29 woodcuts. There are 72 fold-out plates throughout, mainly at the back. The spine is faded, and a square section of the top corner of the front endpaper has been removed. Furthermore, the topmost corners are scuffed, the base corner of the back cover severely.A Vg copy in other respects, three-quarter leather binding. Gold motif to front cover. HEAVY BOOK!
