Stiff blue wrappers with orange-red titling to front. Large book (12.5" x 8.5") is tight and square with surprisingly sharp edges and corners given format and age. Frontis of Robert McCormick (1780-1846) is Fine. Multiple other black and whites throughout, mostly of the various farming and agriculture inventions. Book is Near Fine and quite uncommon. Self-published by the family in preparation for "the application that has been made for the enrollment of his name in the "Hall of Fame" it becomes necessary." From R. Hall McCormick and James Hall Shields, grandsons of Robert McCormick: "We have long contemplated writing and compiling a history of our Grandfather, Robert McCormick, and thus putting on record all the known facts concerning his life, his work, and his inventions, and in connection therewith furnishing all the evidence, long in our possession, relating to his invention of the McCormick Reaper, but have postponed it from time to time, until now, by reason of the .".

I have a small bookstore that's available to browse by appointment only. We're in Bar Harbor, on the coast of Maine and many of our books come from estate sales in the region.
