About this Item
Ellesborough Press, Ltd, London, 1982, 334 pages. Published for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Illustrated with plates from 27 photographs. High quality facsimile edition of the 1908 master work detailing Tom Morris's life and Scotland's most famous golfer. Old Tom Morris won the Open Championship in 1862 and he influenced or designed many of the worlds great courses. Bound in dark green leather with olive green title labels and raised bands to the spine. All edges gilt. Housed in the green cloth slipcase which is severely bumped at one corner. Slight browning on spine. Ellesborough published three different versions of this book in limited quantities of 300, 200, and 100 copies. This is one of the 100 limited edition printed specifically for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and includes a special 13-page prologue. Unfortunately these were not numbered individually or signed. Donovan & Jerris T16660. Don t confuse this more scarce edition with the cloth one of 300 copies or the other GCSAA edition of 200 signed leather copies. Condition: Near Fine in Very Good+ Slipcase. Slight browning on spine (typical with the Ellesborough Press leather editions). I will be adding volumes to my Golf List weekly. Seller Inventory # 5070
