pp. 623. Thick square 8vo. Stiff silver card covers. Replete with black-and-white, and colour photographs, portraits, illustrations, et al. No detectable flaws, contents remain bright, clean, and unmarked; near fine and housed in very good+ clear dustjacket. More manifesto than monograph, Life Style is the first book to document Bruce Mau's creative process and his studio practice, Bruce Mau Design. Conceived and designed by the studio, the book is a singular album of playful and critical statements about the visual and cultural trends that influence today's image-driven context. This collection of Mau's essays, observations, anecdotes, and project documentation emobides his unique world view and his belief that form and content are inseparable. The book's organization echoes his conviction that design is more than an end in and of itself; it is "not separated or segregated from life but instead is integrated with other messy flows. It engages directly with the world.".

Since founding his Toronto-based studio in 1985, Mau has become one of the world's most sought-after designers. He became an international figure following the publication of the groundbreaking and award-winning volume S,M,L,XL, which he designed and co-authored with Dutch architect and recent winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, Rem Koolhaas.
Written by Mau and conceived and designed by BMD, Life Style is a collection of playful and critical statements about the visual and cultural trends that influence today's image-driven environment. The book showcases the methodology, philosophy, world view and projects of BMD.
