Cornewall, University of Toronto, British Armorial Bindings, "Velters, Sir, 4th Baronet (1824 -1868)". Armorial bookplate of Sir Velters Cornewall on the front pastedown. Oxford DNB J. K. Laughton, revised by Andrew Lambert, "Beaver, Philip (1766-1813)". Captain Beaver saw action in the East Indies while under employment with the British Navy. He began his service at age 11. He would go on to attempt to colonize an island off the coast of Sierra Leone before he would die en route back to England a few decades later, after participating in the capture of Mauritius and fighting against the French. Joshua Riley, witnessed the Arethusa-Belle-Poule fight, involved in the Ushant action, part of the Bulama colonisation scheme, servrd on the Stately in the East Indies, involved in th bombardment of Genoa and the surrender of Massena. saw service in the Egyptian blockade, then in 1806 was appointed to the Acasta and then in 1809 the Nisus, died 1813 on the return journey from the East Indies.
