17 illustrations, including frontispiece. Full calf binding that is split at the hinges. Front hinge is still attached by stitching, rear hinge is almost completely loose. Corners exposed, leather greatly rubbed. Gilt lettering on black on spine, raised bands. Light green endpapers. Speckled page edges. A few spots and slight browning to pages. Contents include the life of Jefferson Davis as a biography, followed by the reminiscences and addresses of General George W. Jones, James Campbell, J. L. M. Curry, Hon. A. H. Garland, Hon. Randolph Tucker, Governor J. B. Gordon, General Fitzhugh Lee, Maj. Thomas W. Hall, and many others. There are also appendices with some of the writings of Jefferson Davis, and editorials, memorials and obituaries of Davis. Jefferson Davis (1808-1889) was the only president of the Confederate States, between 1861 and 1865. Hardcover, acceptable condition. 490 pages, octavo.
