Original blind-stamped brown cloth with spine lettering and decorative rules in gilt.xii + 556 + 12-page address by Walker. Frontispiece portrait. Spine slightly faded, with fraying to head & foot; corners rubbed; shelf-wear; but else an nice, tight copy with otherwise bright interior. Walker was Backhouse's companion in the latter's own "Narrative of a Visit to the Australian Colonies" (1843).
