About this Item

Description:

(no dust jacket) [ex-rental library book (American Lending Library, Inc.; "Never Sold / Only Loaned"), with multiple stampings and printed library label on ffep, remnants of jacket flaps on both pastedowns (most text gone); worn and soiled, but as rental library books go, not so bad; the front hinge starting to give way, but it's still a decent reading copy]. Novel about a boxer who's charged with murder at the climax of his career, and has to take it on the lam, "riding the brake beams as a fugitive." There's "a girl and some crippled kids" involved, too, in this "authentic, uncensored, rousing story of the prize ring." Filmed to pretty good effect by Warner Bros. (who else?), with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. as the fighter and Loretta Young as his girl. Seller Inventory # 15844
