(New York: Time, Inc., [1966]). First Editions. Two magazine appearances: as "Alias James Bond - The Real Story of Ian Fleming" and "James Bond is Born" [in: Life Magazine, vol. 61, nos. 15-16, 7 & 14 October 1966]. Magazine format in pictorial paper wraps. Photographs throughout. Original retail price 35c. each. With the memorable fold-out cover photograph of Ian Fleming at the wheel of Bond's supercharged 4.5 litre 'Blower' Bentley on the cover of the October 7, 1966 issue. Both are nice copies with the customary address labels to the bottom left-hand corner of each issue. Uncommon. Complete sets are inexplicably scarce. NB: These magazine appearances pre-dated the first publication of the "Life of Ian Fleming" in hardback a week later. A very nice set indeed. Further photographs available upon request.
