Life in Christ and social ethics in the Epistle to Philemon -- III. The mystery of the Son of Man -- IV. The vision of history in the New Testament -- V. Was the Last Supper a paschal meal? -- Index of biblical references. -- Publisher's note: "The essays selected for this volume have been taken from La Vie en Christ published by Delachaux and Niestle, of Neuchatel and Paris, in 1952. They represent studies in the New Testament made by the late Theo Preiss, and constitute a unity in so far as the author's central interest is Christology. The author was a pastor of the French Reformed Church. Roger Mehl, Professor of Philosophy at Strasbourg University, writes of him: `if he had lived, he would surely have given us a theology of the New Testament whose unity would have consisted in the idea of juridical mysticism, which binds together the fundamental ideas of justice, justification, witness, ambassador, pledge, seal, etc.'" (p. 7). 2nd impression edition. Binding is Paperbound.…
