Very light edgewear to covers with a few scuffs. Binding is sound and pages are unmarked. Not an ex-library copy. Biographical first section of Waddell's larger Life and Works of Robert Burns, bound together here as an individual volume. Waddell was a Scottish cleric who founded a congregation, which he called "The Church of the Future," in Girvan, Ayrshire, just 20 miles south of Burns's hometown of Alloway. Along with his religious work, he wrote and spoke widely about Scottish and Celtic culture and literature, including a defense of the authenticity of MacPherson's Ossian poems. [AB-164].
