Dust jacket with small chips and tears, including a larger one on the inside back flap; now encased in a clear, protective cover. An attractive copy. The son of a freed slave, Latimer was in the midst of the late nineteenth century industrial revolution. Latimer had patents of his own, and worked with both Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Edison.
