Book Condition> Good+: Very sharp corners, edges and spine ends. Bright clean cloth with sharp design and lettering to front and spine. Lightly cracked front endpaper with strong hinges. Lightly tanned uncut pages with very minor spots to extreme page margins from spotted upper text block edge. 444pp. Size: 12mo (large), 20.5cm by 13.5cm. Book Resume: "The Duchess of Somerset has treasured up the letters of her two sons from their earliest childhood until their death These, together with some letters kept by their sister, have now been collected together and printed for private circulation among their relations and intimate friends Very few of Lord St Maur's letters to his youger brother have been found Lord St Maur must, doubtless, have destroyed them after his brother's death in 1865 Though their lives were so short the letters are many, and will show how their time was spent, how devoted they were to each other and to their parents, and what an irreparable loss their death has been to all who knew and loved them" Guendolen Ramsden.
