The pamphlet led to the agitation of the High Church for ecclesiastical reform.Written by Bartholomew Shower in collaboration with Francis Atterbury. Atterbury in particular had a religious background, as a High Church Tory and Jacobite. Shower was notable as a lawyer, politician, High Tory, and Recorder of London. Disbound. Half-title, title page, and pages 57 to 68 are detached but present. Edge wear to the first and last few leaves, with a small chip to the head of the final two leaves, not affecting text. Internally, binding is a little strained. Pages are age-toned with some light spots and handling marks. A couple of pencil notes to the margins. Good Only.
