Edward Leeves was a well off Tory gentleman living in Venice in April 1849 when his journal begins ( the surviving extract reproduced here ends in July 1850 ). He was homosexual, having an affair with a trooper in the Royal Horse Guards. He is from the same family as William Leeves whose biography is my stock item no. 008336. Dustwrapper clean and sound, with several small closed edge splits, and minor chips to rear top edge. Contents clean and crisp. Fine in VG dustwrapper.
