Add to basketFirst edition of this entertaining book containing humorous poems about life on the homefront, with rhymes about land girls, air raids, fire wardens, and many of the other major characters of the time, beautifully color-illustrated by artist Laurie Taylor. Humor books like this one were a staple of World War II, helping civilians and soldiers alike to cope with the extreme circumstances of war. Laugh It Off is set apart by the beautiful illustrations, which elevate this book over others of the genre. This book is exceptionally rare in collectible condition. For reference, the only other copy currently available at the time of writing has a bootprint on it. A mere six institutional copies are listed in Worldcat. Small mark on margin of front wrapper from price sticker removal. A few very faint spots of soiling to wrappers. A rare and beautiful copy in near-fine condition.
