A clean, sound copy of this set of papers from a symposium. The binding is tight, and the text is free of markings. The pages are age-toned but not brittle. 29 papers are included, with a focus on the Monroe Doctrine and all it implied at that time of rampant interference. However, many other topics are covered as well. The Panama Canal had not yet opened, and one paper speculates on its probable effect on the west coast of South America. Two chapters deal with Argentina and one with the Dominican Republic. Quite a nice time capsule for the historian.

Terms of sale
In addition to payment through Abebooks (the preferred method), payment can be
made via Paypal or personal check or money order for US transactions only. All international sales must be conducted through Abebooks. Paypal does not adjust the exchange rate.
In January 2016 the US postal service changed international shipping rates. Books weighing 2 lbs. or less (packed for shipping) ship at a reasonable rate. The rate for books over this weight has gone up dramatically. For this reason, the bookseller may contact you for extra funds for shipping. This will occur if the book is inexpensive but overweight. You have the opportunity to decline, in which case the sale will be cancelled and your credit card will not be processed.
Checks should be made payable to Lucy Horton. All books are selected and packed with care.
