About the Author

Everett Carll Ladd is executive director and president of the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at the University of Connecticut, and an adjunct scholar of the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ladd is the author or editor of twenty books on American political thought, electoral politics, and public opinion. He and his wife, Cynthia, have four children and already, happily, five grandchildren. He lives in Storrs, Connecticut.
