Item description from seller

Near fine first edition, first impression of the scarce Collins Crime Club issue in VG all-original dustwrapper. Hercule Poirot, nearing retirement, decides to take on twelve cases, each mirroring one of the twelve labors of the mythical Hercules. He uses his intellect, rather than brute force, to solve these "labors," which include finding a missing woman, uncovering a stolen painting, and identifying a murderer. Octavo, measures 19 cm x 13 cm x 2.3 cm. Reddish -orange cloth with black lettering to spine. Tiny area of fading at base of spine, corresponding to the paper loss at the base of the dustwrapper. Tight binding and text block. 256 pages of text. All pages clean except for some very light spotting to fore-edges. The attractive dustwrapper depicting a Pekingese dog has minor nibbling at the top of the spine and some magic tape on verso. Both flaps complete with price of 8s 6d. net present. Tiny closed nick at the bottom right of the front. Other small areas of rubbing and creasing. Presented in a newly-fitted mylar cover to assist in procting and conserving the dustwrapper on this collectable book.…
