Small 4to., vii, 158 pp., 17 illustrations, 8 plates with tissue guards. Newly bound in paper over boards with paper labels on front and spine, with the original printed paper wrappers bound in. The wrappers are a trifle dusty and rubbed in one spot, with slight chipping at the corners. SIGNED on the half title "Hommage de l'Auteur et des Editeurs." A very good copy. An excellent manual covering all aspects of illuminants and illuminators, chemicals, oils, electricity, magnesium and zinc, aluminum and zinc; it also discusses lighting techniques needed for rooms, genre, portraiture, etc. Illustrated with views by Hoder (e.g. catacombs of Paris), and others; details equipment used for such work.
