Octavo, [12], 224, [2] pages. In Very Good minus condition. Rebacked - modern paneled red leather spine with gilt title on black label; original boards preserved, in publisher's red buckram with gilt decoration and ruling. Boards show moderate shelf wear and soiling, with scuffs and stains visible where the original cloth overlaps with the rebacking material. Rubbing on all edges and small areas of exposed board at the fore corners. Spine is cocked. Text block shows expected age toning, with moderate shelf wear visible on edges. Dust soiling on top edge. Small scuffs and closed tears on endpapers, mostly near gutters, likely as a result of the rebacking. Names of former owners in pencil on title page and half title page. Shelved in case 2. . Contains first issue point "Wade" on page 21 in the second line of the poem Jabberwocky, which in later printings was changed to "Wabe" 1404029. Shelved Dupont Bookstore. Seller Inventory # 1404029
