Frontispiece black and white drawing of a young girl on crutches plus 9 black and white drawings by the AUTHOR scattered throughout as head and tail pieces. Top edge gilt, fore- and bottom edges untrimmed. Rubricated and decorated title page. Green cloth made to look and feel like pebble-grained leather with gilt letters and decorations on the front cover and a red heart in the upper lefthand corner of the front cover. Just touches of wear to extremities, covers clean and bright, gilt bright including top gilt, all illustrations in fine condition, name of previous owner [Mrs. John Sill (Lill?) May 1909) on front free endpaper, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. This is a story for children, the autobiography of an eight-year-old "Dickensian" child named Sissy "Little Tag" Goodenough. "Sissy is a match-maker by birth and inclination, and she does not hesitate in telling us just how she goes about it. That her methods are infallible four happy people can testify, and Sissy gives us many a hearty laugh at their expense."
