Macmillan, 1950 Stated First Edition, First US Printing Lovely near fine/fine clean book with the scarce FIRST printing dust jacket. First book in the Narnia fantasy series. The book is in near fine beautiful condition with light pale blue cloth boards, with a stag design to the front and the titles to the spine. The boards are clean and fresh with but light bumping to the corners tips. The book has no edgewear and the binding is tight and square. The end papers are clean with No inscriptions, No bookplates, and No owner names. The internal pages are remarkably crisp, bright, clean and flat, with No tears, No bent pages, No handling marks, No stains, no foxing and No writing. Beautiful, clean highly collectible example of this title, Internally appearing as unread. Please see images. The very scarce original first edition, first printing dust jacket has benefited from some restoration by an expert paper conservator and as such presents beautifully. The jacket remains bright and has strong vibrant colors with NONE of the common sunning. The dust jacket is NOT price clipped and has a stated price of $2.50 on the lower inner flap (the upper flap corner is clipped by the publisher, as all the first printings appear to have this same corner neatly angled).
