Dust jacket is a little age-toned, light wear to corners and lower spine, rear shelf-marked, spine sunned, unprice clipped; boards are clean, corners sharp, gilt titling; binding is tight; pages are unmarked aside from previous owner's ink signature on front endpaper, black and white photographic illustrations throughout. Just jacket by British painter Keith Vaughan, very scarce. Rene Cutforth was a prisoner of war in Africa from 1941 until the end of WWII. Upon his return to England he became a BBC broadcaster and reported on the Korean War. ; 5.5 x 0.75 x 8 inches; 192 pages.

Store Description

Established in 1979 with a medium size stock, shop is in North London less than half an hour from West End. We are open Thursdays to Sundays 10,30. to 6.30, but telephone and computer usually manned daily. Named after Thoreau's book, not connected with the American book chain. We do feel that actually being able to see the books one is browsing is what bookselling or buying is all about and all of the the books offered are from our shop stock and may be viewed during shop hours or by arrangement when closed. We also stand at occasional book fairs. Please note only a small amount of our stock is on the website, we have over 10,000 titles in our shop, please let us know if you need any other books.
