University of New Mexico Press, Albuquerque, NM. 2003. Softcover/Trade Wraps. First Edition. 3rd Mo Bowdre novel. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Near Fine; slight smudging to textblock bottom. No DJ. Pictorial card stock wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine is not creased or split; text is secure in binding. 247 pp 8vo. A film company on location in the Southwest is basing its movie in progress on a historical event - a Native American victory over Spanish invaders in 1680. But some Indians deeply resent the filming on tribal land. Shooting has just begun when a deadly real-life scenario rapidly eclipses the one slated for the screen: the man who leased the Santo Esteban Pueblo to Hollywood, suddenly dies, and the leading man is murdered. Blind sculptor, Mo Bowdre, and his Hopi girlfriend, who has a small role in the movie, suspect that someone either wants to jinx the production or had a grudge against the leading man, or both. But Mo's inner vision tells him the story is much more complex than that and its up to him to unravel the mystery before more harm is done. A clean very presentable copy.…
