Previous owner Clarine "Kitty" Rodman (1925-2014) dated this volume "March 1974" and signed her name both to blank FFE and to bottom of dust jacket front panel. (Hey, it was 45 years ago; she didn't ask US.) This is a PON -- book NOT signed by author Galvin. The town's "First Lady" of Construction, Mrs. Rodman moved to Las Vegas in 1952 to join her husband, Leon "Dick" Rodman, who was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. She joined Bill Koerwitz and Gus Rapone in forming Sierra Construction Corp., soon becoming secretary-treasurer and part owner of the company, a position she held till her retirement in 2003. Sierra Construction built the Golden Nugget, Binion's Horseshoe, the Four Queens, the Santa Fe and the Mirage, and built various phases of the Dunes, the Fremont Hotel, the Mint, the Sahara, the Sands, the Hacienda, the Flamingo, the Las Vegas Hilton, the Gold Coast, the Tropicana, the Stardust, the Frontier, Bally's, and the Las Vegas Convention Center.
