Item description from seller

Small quarto. [vi], 56. London: printed for Robert Bostock, dwelling in Pauls Church-yard, at the signe of the Kings-head, 1645. First edition. Sometime removed from a bound volume, but original stitching still present and firm. Front blank, and rear errata not present (as usual). Small tear to upper margin of final leaf with loss of end word, small ink number seemingly removed from top border to title page, slight foxing esp at outset, a hint of trimming to the foot of page 8. Overall a nice clean example of one of the most important of all the Civil War tracts, in which the King?s reputation was successfully traduced by selectively editing the papers written by him that Fairfax had discovered on the battlefield of Naseby. There are several states given by ESTC: this appears to be 3) and 5): that is, the letters are not numbered in Roman numerals, and the cypher codes have been removed. Please note faults, but a decent example overall (please see photos). ESTC R200152.
