Later issue, without publisher's adverts at the rear and lacking tissue to frontispiece. Publisher's red cloth boards with gilt elephant device to upper board and gilt lettering to spine.10 photographic plates (including frontispiece). Small stain to tail of lower board, spine slightly faded. Corners bumped. Contemporary inscription (dated 1905) to half-title. Off-setting to endpapers, but no discernible foxing. Leaves are clean, binding is tight and square. *** 1st UK edition (Printed by R.& R. Clark Limited, Edinburgh, as per last page), but without some of first issue points. Seller Inventory # 000166
