A colorful and practical guide to the art, history, design, and construction of kaleidoscopes, combining visual inspiration with hands on craft instruction. Explains how kaleidoscopes work, explores design principles and image effects, and presents a gallery of imaginative projects for makers, collectors, artists, teachers, and hobbyists. Ideal for anyone interested in optical toys, folk art, paper and glass crafts, handmade gifts, classroom art projects, color theory, symmetry, mirror systems, and creative design. A charming reference for both the handicrafter and the pure aesthete, with appeal to kaleidoscope collectors, craft book collectors, art educators, and DIY makers.
