The Book is in Near Fine condition without any visible defects, losses, remarks and stains. Cover corners show slight fraying, soft creases across cover corners, one small brown stain on the back cover; internally very few occasional foxing spots. Current the fourth poetry collection includes poems written during 1921-1926. Here the main subjects of author s previous works, such as candid love motives and childhood memories have been replaced with social problems depiction. Pessimism of young romantic poet arose after turning his gaze to the brutal egoism ideology of todays society, which is seeking immediate delights without thinking of eternal things. That s why death and oblivison moods became prevalent in his verse, which sounds not overly morbid, but rather solemn. Poems are written in Võro dialect. This peculiar literary production was highly praised by critics and considered one of the best Adson s works. Book s great grotesque cover design by Wiiralt. Artur Adson (1889 1977) was an Estonian poet, writer and theatre critic. In 1927 he got married with most greatest poetess of Estonia Marie Under. From 1917 Adson was a member of the Siuru literary movement, which exerted great influence on the Estonian literature. Later Adson was also active in the Tarapita movement. He is considered one of the most outstanding poets in the Võro language of southern Estonia. Great graphic cover design with elements of grotesque by Wiiralt. Eduard Wiiralt (1898 1954) is considered as the most remarkable master of Estonian graphic art in the first half of his century. With his unique and easily recognisable style, which could be characterized as grotesque, surrealism and sexuality, artist has acquired recognition both at home and abroad.
