Hardback. After a successful career in the Army, the author was offered the job of Chief Security Officer to the Sierra Leone Selection Trust, the West African diamond mining subsidiary of the giant Consolidated African Selection Trust. His job was twofold: to prevent illicit mining on the sites leased by the Sierra Leone Government to SLST and to ensure the safety of the diamonds mined by the company on those sites. How he set about these tasks and how his new career came to a sudden and dramatic end, culminating in the biggest diamond robbery of all time, involving stones worth approx. one and a half million pounds even in their uncut state, he reveals in this book. Illus. + Map. 155pp. 8vo. h/back. Vg+ in Vg. dw. which is faded on sp.
