Sixth printing of the first edition of 1894. Dark blue cloth boards with gilt picture of the elephant herd, gilt lettering and picture to spine. Some rubbing and bumping at edges especially to spine, which is also faded and has a white stain. Faded scribble to front board. Gilt is bright. Gilt page edges. Very occasional slight markings to pages which are age tanned. Charming illustrations. Previous owner's dedication on fly-leaf, undated but probably contemporary. 8vo. Illustrated by J Lockwood Kipling, WH Drake and P Frenzeny. Seller Inventory # 6742
