This 255-page, ex-library offering in VG-/VG- condition is Jorge Luis Borges by George R. McMurray, published in 1980 by Frederick Ungar Publishing Co. This book shows the standard library markings, and a modest yellowing of its pages. Its dust jacket evidences library markings, and shows some slight shelf wear at top and bottom edges of jacket spine. This offering is an account of not only the details and events of Borges' life up to that time, but also provides summaries, commentary, and analysis of the poems, essays, and stories of Argentina's much-honored, and most revered, writer. From front inside jacket flap, "[Borges'] writings are imbued with a metaphysical fantasy that brings to mind the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.Borges' absurdist view of the universe finds voice in his best-known works--'Labyrinths', 'Dr. Brodie's Report', and 'The Book of Sand'. . ". Volume features also Contents pages, Chronology(of subject's life), Key to Collections(of subject's writings), Chapter Notes, extensive Bibliography, and Index. Thanks very much. …
