Item description from seller

Entire volume offered. Original cloth. Some wear to head of spine and rear joint, else Very Good. Other contributors include Kinsey, Stebbins, J. T. Patterson, S. Wright, V. Hamburger, et al. 'Here, Muller presented a detailed review of what was known about speciation genetics at that time. Muller's article, however, is more than a review. He anticipated several developments in speciation genetics that would be rediscovered five or six decades later. Although neglected by CARLSON (1981) and most other accounts of Muller's contributions, this article represents a foundation for research on the genetics of speciation' (Norman A Johnson, 'Sixty years after 'Isolating Mechanisms, Evolution and Temperature': Muller's legacy', Genetics, July 2002; 161(3): 939944. The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1946 was awarded to Hermann Joseph Muller 'for the discovery of the production of mutations by means of X-ray irradiation.'.
