Unpaginated. Illustrated three-panelled brochure measuring 10.5 x 23 cm, folded, and 23 x 31 cm, unfolded. Printed on thick salmon-pink card-stock with maroon lettering and highlights, prominently bearing the monogram of the "WSW" to the lower-margin of the front cover. Light horizontal creases, else, bright, clean, and unmarked; near fine. Highly rare. Unrecorded in commerce. Not found in Fisher, Peel, BAC/LAC, University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections, et al. Not found in Weinrich. Rare indeed. A rare first printing of this inaugural programme booklet announcing the launch of the first of an annual six-week "study series of discussion groups", a collaborative effort between the Toronto branches of the Canadian Congress of Labour and the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, officially opened by CCF leader M.J. Coldwell. Held every "Thursday evening for six weeks", and organized under the auspices of the "Woodsworth School of Workers", the brochure sets out a structured curriculum designed to foster socialist thought and discourse. Text formatted into five columns ("Group; Date; Chairman; Subject; Leader"), with a registration form on the recto of the inner panel. Verso of panel presents an introductory instructional statement to prospective participants, outlining the objectives of the (evidently) short-lived initiative, and the names of its key organizers. Rear cover relates a brief history of the school which drew its inspiration from the legacy of J.S. Woodsworth, a key figure in the early Canadian socialist movement, and one of the founders of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. Seller Inventory # 7408
