53 p. Includes illustrations. References. Some illustrations in color. The distribution list consists of about 80 copies. Authors continue: Hall, Gareth N., and Suzuki-Vidal, Fracisco; and CUneo, Michael E., and Rogers, TJ, and Cleveland, Monica; and McBride, Ryan D., and Serrano, Jason D.; and Peyton, Brad; and Coverdale, Christine A., and Jones, Michael C., and Jones, Brent M. The authors are affiliated with Sandia National Laboratories and the Blackett Laboratory, Imperial College London. Radial wire arrays provide an alternative x-ray source for Z-pinch driven Intertial Confinement Fusion (ICF). These arrays, where wires are positioned radially outward from a central cathode to a concentric anode, have the potential to drive a more compact ICF hohlraum and may be of interest in opacity experiments. These arrays are also shown to have applications to jet production for laboratory astrophysics.
