A scarce first edition novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, a witty and entertaining novel about an incredibly beautiful girl, one of her very popular works when first published. The scarce first edition of this work.'Introduction to Sally' was one of von Arnim's most popular works when first published, though it is now largely forgotten. It tells of a young and strikingly beautiful girl from rural England, a common girl who strikes the heart of all men who know her, completely unbeknownst to her.By Elizabeth von Arnim, a noted author and aristocrat known for her prolific works. She was the cousin of fellow author Katherine Mansfield, and had a three long affair with H. G. Wells. Through her first marriage she was a Countess, and later married Frank Russell, who was the elder brother of the Nobel prize winning Bertrand Russell. Two pages of adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some marks and discolouration to the front board and spine. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Some spots to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some odd spots. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 823P26
