Hardcover edition, 8th printing of the 1934 edition in olive green cloth-covered boards contrasted by a green title block along the spine with gold print and borders to the title block. Good condition without a dust jacket. The covers are in good shape though edges show some rubbing due to shelf storage with light wear/fraying to the corners and slightly indented spine caps. The binding is square. Minor abrasion to the front flyleaf. Previous owner's information is marked on the front paste-down; however, the interior pages are unmarked.Introduction to Atomic Spectra by Harvey Elliott White is a classic foundational text in atomic physics, originally part of the International Series in Pure & Applied Physics. Written for advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students, the book provides a clear and systematic introduction to the field of atomic spectra. It covers essential topics such as the hydrogen spectrum, term symbols, electron spin, and the Zeeman and Stark effects. Emphasis is placed on the quantum mechanical principles that underlie spectral phenomena, making the book both a rigorous and accessible entry point into the study of atomic structure and radiation. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment for protection from the elements. A USPS electronic tracking number will be issued free of charge. Feel free to contact us for more information or pictures regarding the book.

Store description

Alien Bindings is an online bookshop located in Baltimore that has been in operation for nearly 20 years. Alien Bindings caters to the sciences including the physical sciences, astronomy, mathematics, computer science, the social sciences and medicine. I also dabble in a wide array of other categories including antiquarian books and history. I run a clean, green business. I try to reuse clean materials for packaging whenever possible. For example, books are carefully packaged frequently using clean cardboard for custom made boxes, recycled paper is used for printed labels and recycled plastic or bubble wrap is used for a weather-proof barrier. I drop the packages off to my local post office via foot or cycle in order to further reduce the carbon footprint.
