About this Item
First Edition (SD). You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are very clean. There are two light spots on the front. The label on the spine is in very good shape. There is very little wear at the spine ends, just a little color loss at the bottom one. On the rear cover there are some squiggly lines, perhaps created by someone writing or drawing something on a piece of paper that rested on the rear cover, not very conspicuous, I didn't notice until I examined the of closely. The cover edges are in very good shape. The two front corners have small spots of rub-through. The page edges look good. The middle page edge is deckled or rough-cut-cut. They did a very good job. The spine has a slight to moderate forward lean. The book is solidly bound cover to cover. I didn't find any binding issues. The covers are solidly bound. The interior of the book is in very decent condition. The pages are very clean. I saw one very small spot off the top edge of one page, far from the print. There is an occasional one of those lightning-shaped little creases off a top edge. I didn't see any turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings. There is only one little attachment, what looks like a postage stamp off the rear covers bottom edge. At the top is printed in blue 'Aries' and at the bottom 'Buffalo'. Between these words is an illustration of a person on a horse reaching toward a bird in the sky. Finally, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I've always had it in a fitted protective cover. I've rated it Good, taking into account its age. You can see the stain on the front, the losses here and there, everything can be seen. One thing that's concealed nicely by the protective cover is a thin tear going up a ways at the juncture between the spine and rear. The flaps are in decent shape, very clean. There is a sliver of loss over a little bit of each top edge. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. From the dust jacket: 'This little book presents a picture of Robert Louis Stevenson-- new and more personal than any we have had for a long time. After the lapse of years, his step-son feels that he can share with the hosts of admirers of RLS the world over the intimacy of many years of living and working together.'. Seller Inventory # 004781
