Once there was a great empire spanning the stars. It declined and fell, and now there is a galactic Dark Age. But the Imperial starships still functioned -- and anyone who could control them could build a new empire on the ashes of the old. Cover art by Paul Lehr. Mass market paperback. Stated "FIRST PRINTING, SEPTEMBER 1976" on copyright page. First printing also indicated by the complete number string 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 on the copyright page. Therefore presumed first edition thus. This is a used book. Pages are clean and bright with no markings, notes, or highlighting. Covers show shelf wear and are not creased. No owner's marks or bookplates, not ex-library. Price sticker on front. Binding is tight and square. Corners not bumped. An excellent reading copy.
