New and Near Fine; First Edition and First Printing. See scans and description. New York: Minotaur Books / St. Martin's Publishing Group, 2010. Simon Tolkien's 'The Inheritance'. Octavo, illustrated jacket, red cloth boards with gilt spine imprinting, 335 pp. (x + 325). A very Near Fine book with a micro-dimple at bottom edge front cover (see scan) in a like jacket with small, invisible patch of price sticker residue at upper right, front cover. Essentially as new. Bright, tight, handsome. Stated first edition and first printing of Simon Tolkien's second novel (and first Inspector Trave novel), The Inheritance. Tolkien is the grandson of J.R.R., and the son of Christopher. Here, the murder of an Oxford professor turns out to involve a mysterious - and priceless - artifact from 1945, in World War II France. "Half Christie, Half Grisham", per the L.A> Times. Collectible example. Ships in a new, sturdy, protective box - not a bag. L201.
