Item description from seller

Collection of well-considered essays on American life in the post-WWII world, focusing on work, play, ethics, morality, leisure, relations between the races & sexes, & more. Written both before & after the author's bestseller, "The Lonely Crowd,'' in 302 pages + 2 pages of ads for other Anchor titles. This is another Anchor paperback (A58) for the Gorey completist, though he did just the typography here; cover art by Miriam Woods. Orig. published in hardcover in 1954, this is the First Mass Market Paperback edition from 1955. From a single collection, it is in Fine condition: just a tad less crisp than brand new! Looks & feels never opened, with the tiniest of creases to the bottom outside corner of front cover. Else, binding strong & straight, pages white with a hint of tanning to edges, but completely unmarked. Nicely protected in new mylar collector bag FREE! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
